Animal rescue in Yuma means 108-degree days, 2 AM calls about a stray ball python, and sitting with a family who's heartbroken they can't keep their animal. It is exhausting. It is also the most important work I do. I don't rescue animals because it's rewarding. I do it because they need someone who won't quit.

Yuma Homeward Bound Rescue is a broader animal rescue operation that Shiann is actively involved with. The focus here is on smarter systems, faster placements, and making sure every animal moves through the rescue pipeline with care and accountability.
